10 more succumb to coronavirus, Nepal’s death toll hits 491



KATHMANDU: A total of 10 people, including three in Kathmandu Valley, died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the death toll from the pandemic to 491.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the deceased are seven males and three females.

A 68-year-old man in Morang, 58 years in Mahottari, 60 and 70 years in Kathmandu, 55 years in Chitwan and 53 and 39 years in Banke died of the coronavirus.

Likewise, a 72-year-old woman in Sarlahi, 57 years in Kathmandu and 76 years in Banke succumbed to the pandemic.

Nepal on Monday had recorded four coronavirus related deaths.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded a total of 1,513 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. As many as 731 infected ones fully recovered from the virus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the tally of coronavirus infected has reached 76,258 in the country, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said in a daily press briefing this afternoon.

He shared that the country now has altogether 20,396 active cases of coronavirus disease.

Likewise, Dr. Gautam said that 9,689 individuals are in institutional isolation facilities while 10,707 individuals are in home isolation, and 5,778 people are in quarantine facilities across the country.

Of the active cases, 213 patients are receiving treatment in ICU and 34 are in ventilators.
