Student leaders clash at NC Headquarters, again

KATHMANDU: Two factions of Nepal Students Union (NSU), a student wing of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC), have engaged themselves in a brawl at the party central office in Sanepa again on Monday evening.

The clash ensued over the demand that the party should abide by the NSU statute which has fixed an age limit of 32 years for its central committee.

According to the NSU statute, its central committee member has to be below 32 years. The Kafle-faction has alleged the party leadership of flouting the party statute by nominating a senior student to the post of NSU.

Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba has made up his mind to pick Rajiv Dhungana, 50, to the post of NSU President.
