NC CWC endorses decision to hold General Convention in Feb 2020



KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has endorsed an earlier decision of the party to hold the 14th General Convention in February next year.

According to Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma, the meeting unanimously endorsed the decision to hold the convention on February 19-22 — the date earlier decided by the NC central committee on December 27 last year.

The decision has formally ended month-long feud in the party between the establishment side and the disgruntled faction on holding the party’s national convention.

The disgruntling faction had been boycotting earlier meetings of the party.

The meeting also decided to from a seven-member taskforce to investigate active membership. The names of the members of the taskforce are yet to be finalized.
