Schools to take admission, conduct exams from Aug 17

KATHMANDU: Lifting the four-month-long lockdown since Tuesday midnight, the Nepal government decided to allow schools to take admission and conduct examinations from August 17.

A cabinet meeting on Monday had decided to take forward educational activities by following safety health measures.

However, the date for running classes has not yet been fixed.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Yuba Raj Khatiwada said the government will decide regarding teaching activities later.

Similarly, restaurants and hotels will operate from July 30 with some restrictions, according to the government’s decision.

The restaurants and hotels, however, cannot hold parties and seminars while operating, informed Minister Khatiwada.
