32,727 Nepalis from 25 countries back home thru chartered flights



KATHMANDU: A total of 32,727 Nepalis stranded in different 25 countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic have returned home so far.

As per the details maintained by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC), 32,169 Nepalis returned home from 206 flights till July 19, while 558 Nepalis returned home on Monday.

Of these, 7,617 have returned from the UAE, 5,549 from Kuwait, 5,044 from Saudi Arabia, 3,730 from Malaysia and 3,633 from Qatar among others.

A total of 9,087 from Bagmati Province, 6, 479 from Province 1, 5,409 from Province 5, 5,211 from Province 2, 4,169 from Gandaki Province, 795 from Sudurpaschim Province and 722 from Karnali Province have returned to Nepal.

Nepal Airlines and Himalaya Airlines of Nepal and various foreign airlines operated chartered flights. Jazeera Air had brought Nepalis from Kuwait on the first chartered flight on June 5.
