Landslide at Charkilo : Whole day to clear road

KATHMANDU: It would take whole day today to remove the landslide debris deposited on the road at Charkilo along Narayangadh-Muglin road section. The landslide occurred this morning.

A huge landslide along with two electric poles has fallen at the place. The incident site lies 31.5 kilometers from Narayangadh. Chief at the Division Road Office, Engineer Krishna Raj Adhikari, said that the landslide has covered around 60 meters area.

Two loaders—one from Muglin side and another from Narayangadh side have been mobilized to remove the landslide debris.

The landslide debris could be removed by this afternoon if rainfall subsides and problem has been surfaced in this task as rainfall and landslide are still taking place.

Adhikari shared that other small landslides have been taking place at different places along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section and Prithvi highway.

Incessant rainfall has been taking place there for the past two days. Patients and vehicles carrying goods as well as people heading for essential works have been stranded due to road obstruction.
