Dumre-Beshishahar, Bhimphedi-Kulekhani road section obstructed

KATHMANDU: The Dumre-Beshishahar road section is blocked due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall since last night.

The road section at Ghumtibhir near to Ridikhola of Bhanu Municipality-3 is blocked after a landslide decanted there leaving the road section blocked since this morning, Dumre Area Police Office said.

Police have further stated that it will take some hours to clear the debris deposited at the place to resume the transport.

Similarly, Ramjakot road section of Rishing Rural Municipality is also blocked due to landslide. District Police office Tanahun has however informed that there was no obstruction in Muglin-Kotre road section of the Prithvi Highway.

Likewise,  Traffic on Bhimphedi-Kulekhani road section along the Madan Bhandari Highway has been suspended due to a landslide occurred near Gadhi of Bhimphedi rural municipality last night.

The highway remains as the shortest link road from Hetauda to Kathmandu. Incessant rain since yesterday triggered the landslide.

Area Police Office Bhimphedi’s Inspector of Police Surendra Shrestha confirmed the obstruction of the route following the landslide.

It is still heavily raining in the area and it seems not possible to immediately launch the efforts to clear off the landslide depositions, according to Shrestha.

Following the highway disruption, vehicles have diverted to the Tribhuvan Highway.
