Four arrested for involving in child marriage



SYANGJA: Police have arrested four people for involving in child marriage.

Narayan Prasad Tiwari, 24, of Andhikhola rural municipality -1 of Syangja was arrested for allegedly marrying a 17-year-old girl, said Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, police spokesperson at the District Police Office, Syangja.

According to the police spokesperson, Keshav Raj Poudel from Andhikhola-3 had lodged a complaint against Tiwari for marrying a 17-year-old girl.

A case of ‘child marriage’ has been registered against Tiwari, his mother, father and bride.

Police have started necessary investigation after the Syangja District Court ordered to keep them five-day in remand.
