118 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in ICU, eight on ventilator support



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that 118 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and eight have been put on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, four persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province-1, 46 in Province -2, 52 in Bagmati Province, six in Gandaki Province and 10 in Province -5.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Jageshwor Gautam also said that there are eight coronavirus patients, all from Bagmati Province, are on the ventilator.

A total of 10,562 COVID-19 patients are in isolation, he said, adding that 7,675 patients are in institutional isolation and 2,887 in home isolation.

As many as 978 people are institutional isolation in Province 1, 2,076 in Province 2, 2,514 in Bagmati Province, 279 in Gandaki Province, 779 in Province 5, 208 in Karnali Province and 832 in Sudurpaschim Province.

Similarly, there are 197 people in home Isolation in Province 1, 2,349 in Province 2, 111 in Bagmati Province, 27 in Gandaki Province, 170 in Province 5, 8 in Karnali Province and 25 in Sudurpaschim Province.

The government has allowed home isolation as the number of infected is increasing.
