BUTWAL: Standing Committee member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Shankar Pokharel, has said the dispute in the party fizzled out after it whetted debates and discussion in the recent days.

At a program organized on the 27th memorial day of the then general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal, Madan Bhandari, and organization chief, Jivaraj Ashrit, here today, leader Pokharel, however, said every leader and cadre should be aware of party unity.

Also the Chief Minister of State-5, Pokharel called the party leaders and cadres to pride on party history.

“Our unity is for building socialism and ensuring prosperity and sustainable development,” he said, arguing that there was no ideological and political debate in the party but for a power struggle.

According to him, the struggle for power is normal in the communist movement. “Power needs to be managed and unnecessary conflict mitigated in time,” he stressed.

Moreover, the CM said the thoughts of the late Bhandari are still relevant to build socialism and strengthen the communist movement. Leaders should be recognized by the cadres and people, he pointed.
