KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Balendra Shah has called a Cabinet meeting in connection with the Kaptangunj incident in Sunsari.
The meeting has been scheduled for 3 pm on Wednesday and will be held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
Tension erupted after a dispute between two communities escalated into a clash in Kaptanganj Bazaar of Dewangunj Municipality-3, Sunsari. A youth died after being shot by security personnel who were attempting to bring the situation under control.
Clashes have continued in Kaptangunj and nearby areas since the incident. The local administration has imposed a curfew in the affected areas.
