KATHMANDU: A total of 42 disaster-related incidents were reported across different parts of the country within a single day, leaving three people dead and 21 others injured.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 10 districts were affected by various disaster incidents between 10:00 am on July 28 and 10:00 am on July 29. The Authority stated that three people lost their lives, 21 were injured, and no one was reported missing during the period.
Among the reported incidents were 12 snakebite cases, 12 landslides, seven fire incidents, six incidents of heavy rainfall, three animal attacks, one flood, and one earthquake. The preliminary estimate puts the total damage caused by these incidents at around Rs 922,500.
Meanwhile, from Baisakh 1 of the current fiscal year to the morning of Shrawan 12, a total of 3,788 disaster incidents have been recorded across the country. These incidents have claimed 192 lives, left three people missing, and injured 1,139 others.
The Authority said 5,040 families have been affected by various disasters during this period.
