Kathmandu Valley reports 512 new COVID-19 cases; 8 deaths



KATHMANDU: As many as 512 more persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 440 persons in Kathmandu, 43 in Bhaktapur and 29 in Lalitpur have been infected with the pandemic virus.

Similarly, eight persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

Men aged 77, 62, 73, 85 and 70 years and a 61-year-old woman in Kathmandu, a man aged 55 years in Lalitpur and a man aged 73 years in Bhaktapur died of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded a total of 1,170 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the recent data, the total number of cases reached 55,329 in the country as of Monday afternoon.

Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that Nepal currently has 15,393 active cases.
