102 journalists test coronavirus positive in Nepal so far

KATHMANDU: Nepal has witnessed coronavirus cases in 102 journalists so far.

According to the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), 102 journalists of six different provinces have tested coronavirus positive till Monday.

FNJ General Secretary Prakash Thapa said that 17 journalists in Province 1, 28 in Province 2, 26 in Bagmati Province, and 15 in Gandaki Province have tested coronavirus positive.

Likewise, Province 5 has seen 12 and Karnali Province has seen four coronavirus cases among journalists.

General Secretary Thapa added that there have been no coronavirus cases amid journalists in Sudurpaschim Province.

He said that the cases of transmission are largely found in the photojournalists.

Most of the journalists infected with the pandemic have recovered by now.

Lauding the dissemination of news even from quarantine and isolation centers, the umbrella organization of Nepali journalists advised all to execute the duties abiding by the health safety protocols set and followed by WHO and government.
