MoFA Joint Secretary arrested



KATHMANDU: Pushpa Raj Bhattarai, a Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been arrested.

He was taken into custody by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Monday afternoon. CIB SSP Anupam Shumsher JBR said Bhattarai was arrested from Kageshwori Manahara Municipality in Kathmandu.

According to police, he was arrested on charges of an offense under the Passport Act. Police said he was taken into custody after being found involved in an offense under the Act in 2068 BS.

A case against him was registered only in April. Police are preparing to present Bhattarai before the court.
