Bickering for power in NC: Leader Koirala

GORKHA: Nepali Congress central member Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said the intraparty dispute was not of thoughts but of bickering over power in NC.

Central member Koirala said it during a district-level cadres meet organized at Tindhare here Friday.

“I’m worried over the dispute that is not over thoughts but the fight for power,” he expressed, adding that if the groupism in the party was formed based on thought, it could be beneficial.

He blamed party President Sher Bahadur Deuba that the latter failed to sort out problems but continued botching up.

Leader Koirala further criticized that appointing central members, invited central members, and department coordinators at a time when his term of presidency was expiring soon was a wrong step.

“Party is facing the imminent 14th general convention, and appointing new members and department chiefs at this moment is useless and illogical,” he stressed.

Such illogical and impractical works are harmful to party building, he said, adding that anyone’s efforts against party interest are unacceptable.
