British Ambassador Pollitt, Law Minister Tumbahamphe discuss transitional justice



KATHMANDU: British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Kathryn Pollitt on Friday called on Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Shivamaya Tumbahamphe.

During the meeting held at the Minister’s workplace, Ambassador Pollitt expressed her happiness for a woman leading the Law Ministry for the first time in Nepal.

Ambassador Pollitt hoped that Nepal’s transitional justice process will be intensified during Minister Tumbahamphe’s tenure.

Minister Tumbahamphe said that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons are working as per the assigned mandate.

She added that the government was coordinating and assisting the commissions to facilitate their works.
