Demand of Nepali labors goes down by 75 %

Labor destination countries have started facing economic crises on the one hand while they have put a travel ban from Nepal to their countries to control the spread of coronavirus on the other.

Similarly, labor destination countries including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Dubai are preparing to suspend travel from Nepal to their countries.

According to Megh Nath Bhurtel, the Secretary at the Nepal Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs’ Association, said the demand of Nepali workers has gone down by 75 percent, of late.

Price of yellow metal down by Rs 800

The gold price went down by Rs 800 per tola in the domestic market on Thursday, the fifth trading day of the week. According to the Federation of Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), fine gold is being traded at Rs 81,500 per tola on Thursday.

Province 2 deserves ‘special economic package’: Prabhu Shah

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Prabhu Shah has registered a proposal of public importance at the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament today, demanding Special Economic Package for Province 2 as a means of ensuring justice mainstreaming the otherwise ‘marginalized’ region.

NCP lawmaker Prabhu Shah, who is also proposed lead NCP as party Chair of Province 2, registered the proposal with NCP lawmaker Amaresh Kumar Singh, RJP lawmaker Laxman Lal Karna and Samajwadi Party MP Uma Shanker Argariya as the supporter of the proposal.

Minister Bhattarai promises overarching development of Lumbini

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has asserted that the government was working for the overall development of Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Speaking at a meeting of the Lumbini Council, Minister Bhattarai said several studies have been made for the development of Lumbini, and that the government would develop the place on the basis of these studies.

Culture Minister Bhattarai also expressed the belief that Lumbini’s development would be enhanced after the operation of the Gautam Buddha International Airport.

Organic fertilizer and biogas to be produced from garbage in Birendranagar

Birendranagar Municipality is preparing to produce energy from garbage fro the first time following a trilateral agreement of the municipality, Alternative Energy Promotion Centre and KP Commercial Service Company.

A target is set to produce 720 kilograms biogas and nine metric tonnes of organic manure on daily basis from the project of total 30 metric tonnes.

The generated gas will be supplied from the pipeline in a total of 1300 households in the municipality.
