Blast an act of terrorism: NCP Chair Dahal

Pamphlets of Biplav faction found at the site

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has condemned the blast outside the house of former Minister for Communication Gokul Prasad Baskota in Bhaktapur.

NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, issuing a statement, condemned the blast terming it as a cowardly act by what he called a ‘terrorist group’.

Dahal has also demanded immediate action against the group involved in the incident.

A pressure cooker bomb had gone off outside Baskota’s house based at Manohara in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality on Wednesday morning, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Sabin Pradhan.

Meanwhile, pamphlets belonging to the outlawed Biplab-led faction have been found at the explosion site, police said.

According to an eyewitness, a Maruti van being parked on the premises of the under-construction house sustained damages in the explosion.

The houses of Kapil Ghimire and Kuber KC, the neighbors of Baskota, have also sustained damages.
