Govt spends over Rs 6 billion for COVID-19 prevention, treatment

KATHMANDU: The government has spent Rs 6.815 billion for the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 infection.

According to Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Rs 3.25 billion has been allocated for High Dependency Units.

Out of this amount, Rs. 1.12 billion has been disbursed for laboratory and test management.

Similarly, Rs 1.14 billion has been disbursed for the management, contact tracing of COVID-19 infected persons and distribution of risk allowance, while Rs 1.29 billion has been disbursed for ICU, ventilator and hospital strengthening, he said.
