Kathmandu Valley registers 134 COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: As many as 134 people in the Kathmandu Valley have been tested positive to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. This is the highest surge of cases in the Valley so far.

Speaking at the regular press briefing on Tuesday, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at Ministry of Health and Population, confirmed the number of cases in the Valley.

According to Gautam, Kathmandu witnessed 110 cases with Lalitpur 16 cases and Bhaktapur recording 8 cases on Tuesday.

Similarly, Nepal reported as many as 638 fresh coronavirus cases, including Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours, taking the national tally to 23,948.

A total of 16,664 have recovered across the country so far after 171 discharged from hospital and isolation centers in the last 24 hours, he shared. The recovery rate now stands at 69.6 percent.

At present, 7,201 people are in isolation and 11,058 are in quarantines.

Nepal reported four new deaths and the death toll has reached 83 he said.
