BHARATPUR: The COVID-19 laboratory in Bharatpur which was suspended since the past ten days due to the lack of PCR testing kits has resumed its services.
The lab has started testing after a 10-day break after the Ministry of Health and Population supplied the test kits to the lab.
Samples collected in Bharatpur used to be sent to Hetauda or Kathmandu for the test.
The available kits, now, are sufficient to conduct over 1,300 sample tests, Bharatpur Hospital information officer Leeladhar Poudel said.
Coronavirus test service had begun in Bharatpur on April 6.
Initially, it had 384 testing kits. Later it was provided with an additional 100 kits which were finished in just two days, leading the temporary closure of the laboratory.
The lab receives around 40 throat swab samples for test through PCR procedure.
