Teacher who made students cut their hands remanded to custody



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu District Court on Tuesday remanded teacher Sita Laxmi Karmacharya arrested on the charge of making students cut their hands for scoring less in exams to seven days in custody.

A single bench of Judge Prakash Dhungana sent her to custody.

Karmacharya was arrested by a police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, New Baneshwor on Saturday.

The teacher had made her 34 students of classes six and seven cut their hands with a blade for scoring less in the exams.

The Jadibuti-based Jagriti Academy had sacked the teacher after the incident was made public.
