Nepal Army directs its peacekeepers to adopt caution

KATHMANDU: In the context of escalating tension between the US and Iran, Nepal Army (NA) has aware its peacekeeping troops to adopt caution.

NA directed its units deployed under the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping missions to be cautious after Iran fired over a dozen ballistic missiles against some Iraqi bases housing U.S. troops in Iraq.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the NA Directorate of Public Relations stated that Nepali peacekeepers deployed at the place were safe and sound.

Apart from those deployed in Iraq, NA has also urged the other units to adopt necessary security precautions and be in contact with mission headquarters and Peacekeeping Directorate.
