KATHMANDU: Shram Sanskriti Party Chairperson Harka Sampang has accused the government of failing to understand the hardships faced by ordinary citizens.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, Sampang said people were unable to receive basic services, security and justice in the country.
He said the government had failed to understand the suffering of people who were being forced to stand for hours under the sun just to obtain cooking gas.
Sampang said people had voted for the current government with high hopes and expectations, but it had failed to bring the changes they had anticipated.
He also accused the government of lacking necessary coordination and trust among its ministers.
Sampang said young people were being forced to leave the country due to the lack of adequate opportunities at home.
He accused the government of failing to control fraud committed in the name of foreign employment and take action against those involved.
The Shram Sanskriti Party chair also expressed dissatisfaction over the Prime Minister’s continued absence from Parliament despite lawmakers demanding his presence for the past two and a half months.
He described the Prime Minister’s failure to attend parliamentary meetings as “childish stubbornness” and “irresponsibility in office.”
Sampang stressed that the government and Prime Minister must remain accountable to Parliament.
