19 injured in Tanahun road accident



DAMAULI: Nineteen people were injured in an accident involving a truck and a bus on Saturday morning at Rimalni of Bandipur rural municipality-1 in Tanahun district.

The accident took place when a truck, Na 7 Kha 6268, and a bus, Na 7 Kha 4424, collided along the Prithvi highway. The truck was heading towards Dumre from Damauli while the bus was coming from the opposite direction.

Among the injured is the driver of the bus, 42-year-old Kiran Kafle of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-27, Chitwan district. The injured are undergoing treatment at Laxmi hospital at Dumre, the District Police Office Tanahun stated.

The bus driver has sustained injuries to his hands, feet and cheek. The truck and its driver have been impounded by police.

Meanwhile, six people were injured in a car accident that occurred on the Prithvi highway at Ghansikuwa of Byas Municipality-12.

The car, Ba 13 Cha8481, met with the mishap after the driver lost control and it overturned off the road. The injured have been discharged after treatment at Ratnahari hospital in Damauli, police said.
