KATHMANDU: The government has appointed new office-bearers to the Nepal Academy, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Nepal Academy of Music and Drama.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prime Minister Balendra Shah appointed the officials on August 5 based on recommendations from separate committees formed to fill vacant positions.
Kumar Nagarkoti has been appointed Chancellor of the Nepal Academy, with Abinash Shrestha as Vice-Chancellor and Roshan Sherchan as Member-Secretary.
Similarly, Arina Tamrakar has been appointed Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. Chandra Shyam Dangol and Kailash Kumar Shrestha have been appointed Vice-Chancellor and Member-Secretary, respectively.
At the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Brajesh Khanal has been appointed Chancellor, while Jhuma Benam and Bhupendra Singh Rayamajhi have been appointed Vice-Chancellor and Member-Secretary, respectively.
The appointments were made following recommendations from separate committees coordinated by Culture Minister Khadak Raj Poudel (Ganesh), who is also the patron of the three academies.
Prime Minister Shah, who serves as the chief patron of the academies, approved the appointments, the ministry said.
