Kathmandu Valley records 396 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths



KATHMANDU: As many as 396 persons have been infected from COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 300 persons in Kathmandu, 58 persons in Bhaktapur and 38 persons in Lalitpur have been tested positive for the pandemic virus.

Likewise, two people died of the coronavirus in Kathmandu Valley. An 85-year-old man and a woman aged 80 years succumbed to the pandemic in Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, Nepal has confirmed 902 new coronavirus positive cases in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 48,138 with the new cases.

He added that 10,611 samples were tested through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method in laboratories across the country.

Currently, 14,868 are undergoing treatment in isolation. A total of 8.053 are in institutional isolation and 6,815 in home isolation.

According to the Ministry, six people including lost their lives from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With the new deaths, Nepal’s coronavirus death toll stands at 306.
