Nepal’s coronavirus death toll climbs to 300 with 11 more fatalities

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded 11 new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 300, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.

In a regular press briefing on Monday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that seven males and four females have died of the pandemic.

A 76-year-old man from Morang, two men, aged 87 and 62 years in Siraha, a 35-year-old man in Sarlahi, a 69-year-old man in Dolakha, a 39-year-old man in Makwanpur and a 59-year-old man in Banke have died of the coronavirus.

Likewise, three women aged 37, 90 and 83 years in Kathmandu and a 63-year-old woman in Kaski succumbed to the pandemic.

Nepal had recorded nine COVID-19 deaths on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded 979 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. With the new cases, Nepal’s caseload has reached 47,236.
