Two Nepalis die in New York, COVID-19 suspected

KATHMANDU: COVID-19 has been suspected as a cause for the death of two Nepalis in New York, USA.

The deceased are Sonam Lama, 40, living in Queens and Thogben Bista, living in Jackson Height of New York. They hailed from Mustang in Nepal.

Both died at their flats, according to Mingmar Lama.

Dr. Ajun Karki, Nepal’s Ambassador to the USA, confirmed the deaths, adding that they are waiting for details.

Lama was living in the USA for 18 years. As he had no relatives, the body was taken by the local police.

Earlier, a Nepali had died of COVID-19 in New York.
