Difference with neighbors should be settled via dialogue: Leader Nepal



KATHMANDU: Chief of the International Department of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Madhav Kumar Nepal, said differences with the neighbors should be removed via dialogue on the proper channel.

Senior leader Nepal said it while addressing a webinar organized jointly by Nepal Institute for International Relations and China Centre for South Asia Studies.

Chief of the international department further believed that the dialogue held on appropriate time could remove the differences on any issue with the neighbor India or China.

According to the former Prime Minister Nepal, panchasheel principles are there to keep Nepal’s relations with neighbors harmonious.

“Nepal does not involve in any conflict among any countries. Nepal launched the movement of the non-aligned movement,” he reminded, urging the neighboring countries to extend efforts to promote good relations.

Senior Nepal further said Nepal wants to move forward by bringing in foreign investment in tourism, agriculture and hydropower sectors. For this, a high level of technology is imperative, he added.

Moreover, he viewed Nepal is for fruitful cooperation with both neighbors India and China; for this, he hoped, they would also become positive and cooperative.
