14 fatalities take Nepal’s coronavirus death toll to 271



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded 14 new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 271, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.

In a regular press briefing on Friday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that ten males and four females have died of the pandemic.

Three women aged 82, 62 and 22 years from Kathmandu and a 35-year-old woman from Chitwan died of the coronavirus.

Likewise, two men aged 55 years from Saptari, a 65-year-old man from Dhanusha, a 31-year-old man from Kaski, a 37-year-old man from Nawalparasi, a 58-year-old man from Pyuthan, a 78-year-old man from Rupandehi, a 63-year-old man from Palpa and a 42-year-old man from Surkhet succumbed to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded 1,359 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. With the new cases, Nepal’s caseload has reached 44,236.

Similarly, coronavirus has been confirmed on 454 people in Kathmandu valley in the last 24 hours.
