Nepal records 1,120 new coronavirus cases, caseload reaches 41,649



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday said 1,120 new cases were added to the coronavirus tally in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of cases has reached 41,649 in the country.

The new cases were detected in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, Chitwan, Dhading, Nuwakot, Ramechhao, Mahottari, Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Kaski, Gorkha, Tahanun, Nawalparasi (East), Parbat, Lamjung, Syangja, Argakhanchi, Dang, Nawalparasi (West), Palpa, Pyuthan, Bardiya, Banke, Rupandehi, Rolpa, Kalikot, Jumla, Dailekh, Achcham, Kanchanpur, Kailali, Dadeldura, Bajhang and Baitadi, Udayapur, Okhadhunga, Khotang, Jhapa, Dhankuta, Panchthar, Bhojpur, Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusa, Parsa, Bara, Mahottari, Rautahat, Saptari, Sarlahi, Sirahi.

Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam stated that 7,18,439 PCR tests were carried out so far.

He said that 1,112 people got discharged across the country in the past 24 hours, making the total number of discharged people 23,290.

There are 10,493 people are in the institutional isolation facilities while 7,615 individuals are in home isolation.

Furthermore, Gautam stated that 144 people are receiving treatment in ICU across the country while 18 persons are on ventilator support.

The districts with over 500 active cases are Morang, Sunsari, Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Chitwan, Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Rupandehi.

Meanwhile, 12 more people lost their lives from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. With this, the death toll from the virus reached 251 in Nepal.
