Four members of a family feared killed as landslide buries house in Gulmi



GULMI: Four members of a family were killed when a landslide triggered by incessant rains buried their house at Rurukshetra rural municipality-5, Tahatim Atipata.

A monsoon-triggered landslide claimed four members of a family when it buried Raju Bote’s house on Friday evening, informed ward chairman Hari Gyawali.

According to Gyawali, the deceased are Raju Bote’s wife, two sons and a daughter. Bote is abroad for foreign employment.

A joint rescue team of police from Police Post Ridi and Area Police Office, Jongaha have has left for the incident site.

“The way to the incident site has been disrupted by the landslide. It is early to confirm anything despite reports of human casualties in the landslide at Tahatim,” said DSP Shalikram Thapa of District Police Office, Gulmi.

The incident site is two hours’ walk from the point of road that has been blocked by a landslide.
