BHOJPUR: An unidentified group has set an excavator on fire at Manebhanjyang in Ram Prasad Rural Municipality in the district.

The excavator, which was being used for the construction of a bridge connecting Bhojpur Municipality-12 and Ram Prasad Rai-5, was set ablaze after dousing it in petrol, said District Police Office (DPO), Bhojpur.

“A suspicious was also found near the incident site. A bomb disposal team is heading toward the incident site to dispose it”, said DPO, Bhojpur.

Police said they have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants. The Provincial government had started constructing the bridge over the Pikhuwa river at the cost of Rs 65.3 million a week ago.
