Don’t expect a miracle, will take time to institutionalize the system: Dahal

RUPANHEDI: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has alleged that the current political leaders have adopted the lifestyle of the Ranas.

Speaking at a program at Tilottama Municipality of Rupandehi today, Dahal alleged the leaders of giving an impression of the administrators during the Rana regime despite the historic political change in the country.

NCP Chairman Dahal compared the current leadership with the administrators during the Rana regime saying that the situation has not changed as expected.

“People should feel the change, which has not happened,” he said, hastening to add that changes, however, will not occur overnight.

Saying that it’s been not even two years that the NCP-led government has been formed, he said, “We should, however, not expect a miracle to happen within two years.”

Dahal said people need not have to worry since the incumbent government is endeavoring to bring about gradual changes in the country.

“Federalism is new to this country. It takes time to be institutionalized,” he said while referring to some negative comments on the system. “I am very much aware of the fact that if federalism fails, I will be the first person to be blamed.”

He urged one and all to refrain from making negative comments on federalism and the existing system saying that everything will go right in future. “It’s all about time and situation,” he added.
