Chef Shah among two arrested in bank fraud case



SIRAHA: Police have arrested a chef in connection with a banking offence in Siraha district.

According to police, Santosh Shah, a chef from Karchhana Municipality–11, was arrested on Friday from Ramand Chowk in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City–8.

The arrest was made by a team deployed from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

Along with Shah, Narayan Sah Sudi of Karchhana Municipality–9 has also been taken into custody in connection with the same case.

Police said the arrests were made based on a complaint filed by a woman regarding fraud allegations, following an arrest warrant issued by the Kathmandu District Court.

According to preliminary investigations, the accused allegedly committed the offence during the purchase of a restaurant located in Gairidhara, Kathmandu.

Further investigation into the case is ongoing, police said.
