Fourth PM Inter-University Sports Tournament kicks off



KATHMANDU: The fourth Prime Minister Inter-University Sports Tournament has started in the capital from Thursday.

Organized by National Sports Council (NSC), a total of eight universities are taking part in the sports event. The tournament includes football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess, and race.

A total of 612 players from Tribhuvan University, Mid-Western University, Sudurpachchhim University, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University, Nepal Sanskrit University, Agriculture and Forestry University and Kathmandu University are taking part in the tournament, said Chandra Tamang, general secretary of the National University Sports Association.

General Secretary Tamang informed that players are vying for 228 medals including 76 gold, 76 silver and 76 bronze. The estimated cost of the tournament is Rs 12.6 million.
