Monsoon likely to hit Dashain festival

KATHMANDU: The Dashain festival is likely to be hit by the monsoon as it is likely to continue over a long period. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the rain might continue still for a week due to the axis of monsoon trough lying near the southern part of Nepal.

“Monsoon is likely to continue still for a week,” meteorologist Manju Basi told Khabarhub.

Moderate to heavy rains are likely to occur when the axis of monsoon trough moves from one place to the other, she said. The local wind also plays a role to cause rains.

The rain is likely to occur across the country until Friday. The weather will be partly cloudy today with chances of moderate rains.

Similarly, heavy rains are likely to occur in the central and eastern regions on Friday.
