Simkot Rural Municipality declared fully vaccinated



HUMLA: Simkot Rural Municipality, the district headquarters of Humla, has been declared a fully vaccinated and sustainable local unit.

The announcement was made after all children aged 0 to 59 months in the municipality received vaccines under the national immunisation schedule in the fiscal year 2082/83.

Health Branch Chief Nar Bhandari said the municipality achieved full vaccination status after ensuring that all children in the target age group received all required vaccines under the national programme.

He added that the process of collecting, monitoring and verifying vaccination records from all wards has been completed.

Rural Municipality Chairperson Bijay Bhandari said the immunisation campaign has been effectively implemented to protect children from various infectious diseases.

Free health care for female health volunteers in Humla

Meanwhile, Health Service Office Humla and Simkot Rural Municipality have reached an agreement to provide free medical treatment to female community health volunteers.

The agreement was signed between Rural Municipality Chairperson Bijay Bhandari and Health Office Chief Dr. Umakanta Tiwari.

According to Dr. Tiwari, the decision recognizes the long-standing contribution of female volunteers in reducing maternal and child mortality, raising public awareness, and expanding access to basic health services.

Under the arrangement, female volunteers will receive all available services at the district hospital free of cost. Simkot Rural Municipality will issue identity cards and ensure that eligible volunteers are informed about the service.
