Past amnesty resulted in bomb explosions: Thapa

KATHMANDU: Kantipur daily has  covered issues of Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa’s response to the bomb attacks carried out by  ‘Biplav’ group and embezzlement of the state coffer by awarding contract to a single firm in today’s edition.

Reacting to the recent bomb attacks, Home Minister Thapa said that the  Biplav group detonated bombs due to the amnesty granted to it by the government in the past. Minister Thapa said so in response to the questions raised by the lawmakers in a meeting of the State Affairs Committee of the Parliament on Sunday.

Similarly, lawmakers have been embezzling a huge amount of money by awarding contract for the construction of office rooms of National Assembly chair, vice chair among others to a single firm or company by breaching existing regulations, says the report.
