KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has invited public feedback on a draft bill prepared under the “Some Nepal Acts (Amendment) Bill, Legislative Act, 2081”.
The ministry issued a notice on Thursday requesting suggestions from the general public within one week in a specified format and language, according to ministry spokesperson Dal Bahadur Adhikari.
The proposed amendments cover 20 existing laws, including the Employees Provident Fund Act, 2019; Land (Measurement and Survey) Act, 2019; Land Act, 2021; Education Act, 2028; and Land Revenue Act, 2034.
Other laws included in the review are the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training Act, 2045; Citizens Investment Trust Act, 2047; Nepal Academy of Science and Technology Act, 2048; Civil Service Act, 2049; University Grants Commission Act, 2025; Health Service Act, 2053; and the Foreign Employment Act, 2064.
Similarly, the amendments also cover the Federal Parliament Secretariat Act, 2064; Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2071; Contribution-based Social Security Act, 2074; National Medical Education Act, 2075; Land Use Act, 2076; Forest Act, 2076; Insurance Act, 2079; and the Legislative Act, 2081.
The ministry has requested stakeholders and the general public to submit their opinions within the deadline to help refine the proposed legal amendments.
