Chinese statement on Nepal’s position on Indo-Pacific Strategy condemned

KATHMANDU: Nepal Republic Party has condemned the statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry saying that Nepal has rejected the Indo-Pacific Strategy forwarded by the United State of America.

Issuing a statement Chairman Siddhartha Gautam said it condemns the crooked and disgraceful act by the Chinese government.

“Nepal in favor of Indo-Pacific Strategy and it has been already communicated through Foreign Minister. The world knows about Nepal’s position. In this context, the act of the Chinese government to speak about Nepal’s position through a press statement without referring an official representative is a part of China’s ploy to create instability in Nepal,” the party said in the statement.

The party further said that it is condemnable that the incumbent government has not spoken on the issue.

A statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry had quoted the Chairman of Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as saying to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that Nepal disapproves the Indo-Pacific Strategy.
