Finland, UAE pledge to cooperate Nepal’s development endeavor



KATHMANDU: Finland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have pledged to assist Nepal’s socio-economic development efforts.

The ministers of Finland and UAE made their respective commitments during separate meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali, who is currently in New York to attend the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Finland’s Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Bin Mohammad Gargash expressed their commitment to for cooperation.

The Finnish Minister and FM Gyawali discussed matters concerning bilateral relations, mutual interests and benefits.

They also agreed to develop collaboration between the two countries in multilateral and regional forums.

On the occasion, Minister Gyawali urged his Finnish counterpart to invest in areas of energy and water resource, and physical infrastructure taking advantage of Nepal’s investment-friendly climate.

Likewise, Minister Skinnari pledged Finland’s support to Nepal’s efforts for socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, matters concerning to mutual interests and benefits were discussed during the meeting with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
