Lawmakers draw govt’s attention on contemporary issues

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have drawn the attention of the government on contemporary issues including growing road accidents in different parts of the country.

Speaking in a special hour of today’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, lawmakers opined that government should adopt safety majors to lessen road accidents.

Lawmakers Sarita Giri, Mina Pandey and Mahendra Ray Yadav said that the government should be serious on adopting safety majors to lessen road accidents.

Lawmaker Yashoda Gurung Subedi drew the attention of the government on road blockade due to a landslide in Manang district.  Lawmaker Yagya Bahadur Bogati stressed on providing relief to the lighting affected people as eight people were injured in lightning in the district recently.

Lawmaker Renuka Gurung opined that the government should hold talks with Indian sides to resolve border and dam issues.

Similarly, lawmakers Prem Suwal, Dila Sangraula, Sher Bahadur Tamang and Mahesh Basnet had raised their voices on contemporary issues in the meeting.
