NCP entrusts Dahal to chair meetings in Oli’s absence

KATHMANDU: A secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Thursday entrusted Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal to hold meetings of the party and to take decisions on party organizational unity in the absence of party Chairman K P Oli.

NCP Chairman and Prime Minister Oli is flying to Singapore this afternoon for a further health check-up.

Even though both Oli and Dahal are the NCP chairpersons, only Oli had the authority to call meetings and chair them.

The ruling NCP has yet to take decisions on issues including party leadership in metropolitan cities, politburo formation, the formation of immigrants’ committees, and work division.

Party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed that Dahal would convene the secretariat meeting to take necessary party decisions on party unification as well as other issues during Oli’s visit to Singapore.
