Home Minister promises action against Panchthar massacre culprit

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today vowed to bring the guilty to book while assuring that the government would make the facts public regarding the mass killing of nine people at Arubot of Panchthar on Tuesday.

Briefing today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) about the incident, Home Minister Thapa said investigations into the case are underway and the murderer will be brought to book.

According to him, the preliminary investigations showed the incident was the outcome of family discord while urging the locals of the district, lawmakers, political parties and stakeholders concerned to support the government in finding out the fact behind the gruesome murder.

A total of nine people of two families were brutally murdered on Tuesday night while one was fund hung later.
