Stringent laws required for development and prosperity, says Home Minister



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said the country needs stringent laws for development and prosperity.

Addressing an interaction on ‘Bill Related to Amending and Integrating Laws on Land Acquisition’, in Kathmandu today, Home Minister Thapa said strict laws were required for the development and security. He also thanked the Nepal Law Commission and the task force for preparing the bill and urged the Commission to revise the bill by incorporating some constructive suggestions.

He noted that the bill would be significant from the perspective of the public welfare as well as the nation’s development and security

Home Minister Thapa also said that the countries having a clear-cut land policy have achieved success in public security while referring to the progress made by various other countries

He said stringent laws should be made to bar rein in unscrupulous activities of the ‘land mafia’ in the construction sectors.
