When salary sheet of Facebook employees stolen …

KATHMANDU: A salary sheet of 29,000 Facebook staffers, which has supposed to be kept confidential, has been stolen.

A hard disc containing the salary details of Facebook staffers was lost from the car belonging to an employee parked at the parking lot.

The incident had taken place on November 17. The social networking giant had been informed about the theft only three days after the incident. On November 29, it had officially stated that the hard disc had contained the details of the salary sheet of the Facebook staffers.

No security system had been applied into the stolen hard disc and that the flies had not been encrypted. As a result, those who stole the hard disc came to know the salary details of the 29,000 Facebook staffers.

The hard disc contained confidential details including salary sheet, bonus details, names of employees and bank.

The employee should not have taken the hard disc with him.

Facebook said it has already taken action against the employee.
