KATHMANDU: The winter session of the federal parliament is starting from today. President Bidya Devi Bhandari has summoned the fifth winter session of the federal parliament at 4 pm today.
According to Federal Parliament sources, the Deputy Speaker at the Parliament Shiva Maya Tumbhahamphe will chair the session as the post of the Speaker is vacant after the then Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara resigned from the post.
The business for the House session has been already scheduled. The House will be briefed about rescheduled Cabinet and important decisions and tasks of the government, sources said. In addition to this, the election of the new Speaker would be held in the session.
Likewise, the Citizenship Bill, Federal Civil Servants Bill, Passport Bill, Bill related to Integrated Land Management, and MCC pact would be discussed in the session.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Tumbhahamphe has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee at 1 pm this afternoon to discuss the agendas for today’s session.
